The naked tree, time for the autumn, kumquat job

ほんの１週間ほど前に40℃を記録したのに、ここのところ急に涼しくなりました。それと同時に庭の金柑の木がじゃんじゃん実を落とし始め、あっという間に全部終わってしまいました。秋が目に見えてやって来たという感じです。「梅仕事」ならぬ「金柑仕事」で毎年甘露煮を炊くのですが、今年は「いつやろうかな」などと考えるまでもなく自然がピンポイントでタイミングを教えてくれました。

It was only a week or so ago Perth had a scorching 40 degree day, but since then the temperature has dropped significantly. It caused my kumquat tree to strip naked all at once, as if it declared the start of autumn. Every year I make jars of kumquat preserve. Usually it's hard to find the right timing to do so as the fruits normally ripen up in a trickling manner, but this year, the nature told me the exact time for this job.
