Mixed feeling, relaxed restriction, for the surgery

オーストラリアではコロナウィルス感染がようやく峠を越したとのこと。グッドニュースです。それに伴い政府は今まで禁止していた緊急を要さない手術を解禁しました。ということは、今まで首を長くして待っていた患者で病院があふれるということですね。私が勤務する病院も、コロナ患者が先週あたりから片手にちょっと余るくらいまでに減り、しかも通常の患者が普段の半分なので、はっきり言って食事の配膳がものすごく楽でした。でも来週からはまたもとの忙しさに戻るのか、あーあ…というのは不謹慎ですかね。

The number of COVID-19 cases has significantly declined in Australia, which is great news. Then the government decided to lift the ban for the elective surgeries from the next week, which means, a whole bunch of waiting world will arrive in the hospitals next week. In fact the COVID patients have been reduced quite visibly to even single digit in my hospital, while the normal patients were still down to about half number - so the ward is half empty. To be honest, we the catering staff, have been enjoying this easy situation. But this has to come to the end and it will be back to the normal busyness from next week, ah... (I know I should not complain...)
