Corona outbreak, hospital stays as, cool as cucumber

世間では大変な騒ぎで、日本ではマスクをしていない人は白い目で見られると聞く新型コロナウィルス騒動。私の働く病院にも感染患者がいますが、普通のインフルエンザ患者と同じく感染症患者用の個室にいるだけで、医療チームもサポートスタッフも、対応はごく普通で冷静です。日本の母は「えぇ、大丈夫？」などと言ってきますが、コロナに限らず感染症は管理予防が徹底している病院こそ安全なのです。

Coronavirus is still such a tremendous fear that those who don't wear a mask may receive a cold look in Japan. However, in a hospital it's been dealt no different from any infectious disease like flu, that is, isolate the patients in special single rooms for airborne and protect them and others by using normal precaution procedures. My mother in Japan worries about me working in the corona ward, but I think the hospital is actually much safer with our high awareness of hygiene and cross-contamination.
