Black and white, pink and grey and, rainbow colours

我が家の上空を飛び回る、あるいは前の芝生を歩き回る、鳥たちのバラエティです。ブラックコッカトゥー(黒いオウム)、カレラ(白いオウム)、ガラー(ピンクとグレーのオウム)、レインボーロリキート(その名の通りカラフルなインコ)、それにクッカバラ(ワライカワセミ)やマグパイ(白黒)と、もちろんカラスも。みんな仲良くやってます、ってことは全然なくて、ばらばらの時間にばらばらの群れをなしてお互い完全に無視か、時には大声で争い合ってます。ちなみに「類は友を呼ぶ」は英語で Birds of a feather flock together (同じ羽根の鳥は群れをなす)と言います。当たってますね。

They are the colours of the birds flying over or walking around our house: black cockatoos, corellas, galahs, rainbow lorikeets, and also kookaburras, magpies and don't forget the crows. Are they get along well? No way, they are of different feathers!! They won't mix and sometimes argue each other quite loudly. The idiom must be right.
