Smooth traffic, tells me others are, on holiday

今週はオーストラリアは全国絶賛ホリデー中です。といってももちろん全員が休めるはずもなく、病院勤務の私は今日も早朝出勤です。この時期は目に見えて道がガラガラ。普段との違いが顕著すぎて「みんな休みなんだな」と、イヤでも気付かずにはいられません。信号もぜんぶ青でぶっちぎり、20分も前に職場に到着しました。

In the very middle of this "National Holiday Week", I am one of the unlucky people who have to work. The roads are so empty this morning that I could not help noticing that others are all enjoying their holiday. I passed every single intersection with green light and ended up with arriving at work twenty minutes earlier than I should.
