Here they come, a flock of cockies, must be five

そら来たぞコッキー軍団もう五時か

昨日のカラスに続いて今日はコッカトゥー(愛称コッキー)と呼ばれるオウムの一種についての句。彼らは大勢(多いときには100羽くらい)でカアカア鳴きながら上空を飛び去って行きます。しかも毎日ほぼ決まった時間、決まった方向へ行くのが面白いところ。騒がしいコッキー集団が近づいてくると「ああ、もう5時か」とわかるくらいです。

The bird's senryu series - about black cockies today. They always fly above our place in a huge flock (could be 100 of them sometimes) with lots of noise. Interestingly, it's exactly the same time everyday and heading for the same direction. It's so accurate that I realise "Ah, it's five o'clock now".
