One after another, the dentist discovers, costly problems

歯医者の定期健診に行ってきました。半年ごとなのですが、この前はクラウンを作り替えたところなのに、今度はブラキシズムという無意識に歯を食いしばる癖を直す為に、スプリントなる器具を装着することを勧められました。歯は大事なので良いと言われたことは何でもやるつもりですが、本当に次から次へとまあ出てくること。私にとって歯は家、車の次にお金がかかる物ですね。そのうち車を越えるかも。

I went to the dentist's for the regular checkup yesterday. It's been only six months since I spent a fortune for replacing the crown, but guess what, my dentist found another costly problem again: Bruxism, which means, clenching teeth unconsciously and damaging them. He recommended me to wear a device called "splint" to prevent it. I am happy to follow his advice as teeth are very important, but cannot help crying "ahh, another pricey fix". In fact, teeth are my third most expensive asset, after house and car. I reckon it will soon exceed the car.
